If you are looking for the perfect complement to your fitness program, the Pilates Allegro Reformer class might be just what you are looking for. Pilates is a unique method of body conditioning named after Joseph H. Pilates. The Pilates method provides strength, without building bulk or tension, and combines the use of breathing techniques, stretching, muscle control, and mental concentration.

REFORMER Class Guidelines:

Arrive on time, so you can set up the Reformer to your size, and discuss any health concerns with the instructor. Please arrive 5 minutes early if you do not have a current Registration and Waiver of Liability on file in the Pilates Studio. Wear comfortable fitting (not baggy) workout attire. If you wear loose-fitting shorts, please be sure to wear bike shorts underneath (your legs will be up in the air!). No shoes will be worn for the workout. You may either go barefoot or wear clean socks. Inform the instructor of any changes to your health status or of any new injury. Minimize use of heavy perfumes or colognes, as a courtesy to others, especially those with allergies.

Basic Guidelines for Yoga & Pilates

YOGA:

Dress in comfortable sporty clothes. They should fit closely to the muscle you intend to work out. All exercises are done much better without shoes. Don’t wear trousers that require a belt or anything else that can irritate your back during the workout. Yoga mats, straps and blocks are provided in the Yoga room.

PILATES:

Avoid wearing jewelry such as bracelets, necklaces, and oversized rings, which may get caught on the equipment. Refrain from using lotions and creams as it increases risk of slipping.  Do not bring children to class, as the equipment can be dangerous. All equipment is to be wiped down and returned to its original setting after use.

PILATES MAT:

Wear comfortable (not baggy) clothing, similar to Yoga. Socks or bare feet, unless you have a condition that requires you to wear shoes. Abstain from wearing fragrances to class.

Yoga, Pilates & Feldenkrais Classes

Mind/Body classes focus on improving your flexibility, strength and balance while enhancing your posture, coordination and mental focus. Yoga and Pilates classes are a great way to quiet the chatter of daily life, relieve stress and feel great. Participation in Yoga, Pilates or any other Mind/Body class will typically result in a 250–400* calorie burn.  Degrees of intensity vary for Mind/Body classes (Level I vs. Level II), refer to the Monthly Schedule to select a class that is suitable to your fitness level.

Core & More  Pilates influenced core work with new work each week.  This class will cater to members needs.  A variety of props will be used to enhance your experience.

Core & Restore  Restore you body’s natural balance with this yoga based class. Increase flexibility, realign imbalances and recover from  other workouts!  Class winds down with deep relaxation and breathing exercises, leaving the mind calm and the body relaxed.                                                                                              
Heated Vinyasa Yoga  This class explores the stages of asana and helps develop and expand range of motion. The focus is on linking breath or "pranayama" to movement, Linking traditional yoga poses together with flowing transitions to leave you energized and massaged.  An ongoing practice is recommended but all levels are welcome to attend with this in mind! 

Moving Pain Free (previously Freedom in Movement)  Students in this class learn that with a few adjustments in HOW they move, they can free themselves from pain, have better alignment, and improve their range of motion.  The technique, called the Feldenkrais Method®, will help you to discover your body's freedom to move 

Pain-free Posture  A series of stretches and gentle exercises designed specifically to strengthen specific muscles and bring back proper body alignment and function. 

Pilates Mat  This class will increase flexibility and strengthen the body’s core to create a uniformly developed and flexible body.  The class is based on the work of Joseph
Pilates. Taught by certified Pilates instructors. 

Pilates w/Props  This class will increase flexibility and strengthen the body’s core to create a uniformly developed and flexible body. A mixture of props are use to add variety and challenge.

Yoga Basics  A class for everyone who enjoys a gentle, slow-paced, thoughtful and thorough Yoga class.  It will help release stress while    increasing your flexibility and strength.  If you are new to the practice of Yoga or it’s been awhile, Yoga Basics is the place to start. This class is suitable during Pregnancy.

Yoga Core  A fluid form of Yoga based upon toning the abdominal wall and strengthening your inner core resulting in better posture, flexibility and self confidence.   This is a 90 minute class

Yoga Flow  An athletic form of Yoga where each pose blends effortlessly into the next, building long lean muscle and flexibility.  Geared toward those who want to improve strength and flexibility. Class winds down with deep relaxation and breathing exercises, leaving the mind calm and the body relaxed.

Yoga Strength  Combines the flow and breath of Yoga with increasing body strength. Yoga Strength is  a Level II class.
